KIFF THUNDERBOLT SAVES THE DAY!
James Kiff came off the bench in the 75th minute and earned Elsworth a point with a rasping 20 yard finish.
Buckden arrived at Elsworth for the early kick off with a unbeaten league record to protect, Elsworth's only changes from the previous week saw Matt Browne come in at centre back and Stu Turner moved up into midfield. It was Elsworth that started the brighter and went ahead when Buckden's left back headed past his own keeper from Dan Watkins cross from the left. Moments later the two sides were level Buckden capitalised on some laboured defending and an uncharacteristic mistake from Craig Lewis in goal gave the away side a half time lead. In the second half Elsworth continued to push for an equaliser and felt harshly denied a penalty after Buckdens right back clearly handballed in the area, just 30 seconds later the away side were given an indirect free-kick on the six yard line. Justice was served as the attempt was blazed over. Jack Chandler and Steve Rush made way for James Kiff and Darren Paine and within minutes Elsworth were level. Confusion amongst Buckdens Polish keeper and the referee allowed Matt Brading to cheekily rob the ball and slide it into an empty net with his left foot. The home sides ecstasy was soon turned on its head when a mistake at the back gave Buckden Number 9 a free shot at goal which he duly abliged, slotting past the helpless Lewis. But it was Elsworth who had the final say, James Kiff frustrated at the lack of playing minutes chose the perfect response by gathering the ball just inside the left and unleashing a 20 yard rocket that flew past the arms of the outstretched keeper. 3-3.
